Terms of Use

These Terms of Use set the conditions for using Laguna Beach Residents Directory. Accessing or browsing the reference indicates acceptance. Anyone who does not accept them should stop using it.

1. What This Reference Is

Laguna Beach Residents Directory is a private reference that describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections concerning current or former residents of Laguna Beach, California. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with an agency, court, library, or records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. Neither it nor information reached through an external link may be used to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions about credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, or another covered purpose
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the reference content at scale
  • Interfere with the reference's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency Status

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither its text nor a result from a linked search tool is a consumer report. Nothing returned may be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.

4. External Portals and Services

Government portals and third-party services, including the Laguna Beach City records search and Orange County RecorderWorks index, operate under their own terms and privacy policies. The reference does not control or guarantee their content, uptime, prices, or data practices.

5. No Warranties

The reference is offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Accuracy, completeness, currentness, portal availability, and search results are not promised.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from the reference or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record reached through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, that arises from misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short attributed excerpt is welcome. Republishing complete pages or copying the material systematically is not.

9. Changes to These Terms

A revised version may be posted here. Continued use after the revision is published means the updated terms are accepted.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the reference, at the operators' discretion and without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by California law without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The public-record references use the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq.; that statute governs agency access, not the private reference itself.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
